Negative & Interrogative sentences (Present & Past):
There are a few tips to
convert affirmative sentences into negative and interrogative sentences.
There are two rules for it:
1. Present Tense
2. Past Tense
Present Tense
If the given sentence is in present, we have to put “DO NOT or DOES NOT” in addition to make it negative of sense as:
. She goes to college daily. (She does not go to college daily.
We win the match. (WE do not win the match.
To make it interrogative, we will put “Do or Does” at the beginning of the sentences as
She goes to college daily. (Does she go to college daily?)
We win the match. (Do we win the match?)
Past Tense
If the given sentence is
past tense, we have to put “DID NOT” in addition to make it negative of sense and
we to change the 2nd form of the verb to the 1st form as:
They played hockey. (They did not played hockey)
To make it interrogative,
we will put “DID” at the beginning of the sentences and change the 2nd
form of the verb to the 1st form as:
Ali played hockey. (Did
Ali play hockey?)
