Negative & Interrogative form of present tenses

Negative & Interrogative sentences:

There are a few tips to convert affirmative sentences into negative and interrogative sentences.

There are two rules for it:

1.     1.     If the given sentence has helping verb

2.     2.     If the given sentence has no helping verb.

If he given sentence has helping verb:

If the given sentence has helping verb, we have to put “NOT” to make it negative sense as:

He is working hard.                                    (He is not working hard.

You have won the match.                           (You have not won the match.)

They have been living here since 2016.    (They have not been living here since 2016.)

To make it interrogative, we will change the place of the helping verb and put it at start like these sentences.

He is working hard.                                    (Is he is working hard?)

You have won the match.                           (Have you have won the match?)

They have been living here since 2016.    (Have they have been living here since 2016?)

If the given sentence has no helping verb:

If the given sentence has no helping verb, we have to put “DO NOT or DOES NOT” in addition to make it negative of sense as:

.           He goes to college daily.         (He does not go to college daily.)

You win the match.                (You do not win the match.

To make it interrogative, we will put “Do or Does” at the beginning of the sentences as

He goes to college daily.        (Does he go to college daily?

You win the match.                (Do you win the match?)
