Numbers’ Systems:
In mathematics, there are a
few systems being used. Most famous of them are:
Decimal system
Base Five System
Binary System
We will discuss these
systems in detail here.
Decimal system / Base Ten System
This is the system that is used almost all over the
world. In this system over all 10 numbers are used that is why it is known as
decimal system (base ten system). These ten numbers are from zero to nine as 0,
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. In this system ten single digits are used but 10
in its single form is not exited. When we try to write 10, we have to use two
single digits that is a one and a zero.
Base Five system
This is the system that is used in a few parts of the world.
In this system over all 5 numbers are used that is why it is known as base five
system. These five numbers are from zero to four as 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4. In this
system five single digits (all shorter than five) are used but the digit 5 is
not allowed here.
Binary system / Base Two System
This is use especially in computer languages. Our computers
use only two digits for whole of their performance. Whatever we writes on the keyboards
of our computer system, these instructions are converted into these two digits
that is zero and a one. So, this system is used all over the world. In this
system only 2 numbers are used that is why it is known as binary system (base two
systems). These two numbers are the zero and the one. In this system two single
digits (both shorter than two) are used but the digit 2 is not allowed here.
